My areas of focus
Trauma-informed care
I offer brainspotting, relational and psychodynamic approaches to work with trauma and adverse experiences that have affected your nervous system and way of seeing yourself or the world around you. I believe that centering autonomy and agency are vital to finding recovery and renewed hope after or during traumatic periods of life. I invite you to share your preferences in how we approach your care.
Depth Therapy
My approach is insight-oriented, meaning that I believe it is most helpful and empowering to get to know our selves, history, patterns, strengths and gifts and use that information to guide change and choice.
I believe that our childhood and early adult experiences have life-long impact and exploring those, contextualizing them and finding new perspectives and ways of relating to ourselves and others is integral to feeling better.
Affirming and welcoming
I hold an intersectional understanding of power, privilege and mental health. I understand that our economic, political and social systems have a profound effect on individual and collective wellbeing.
I aim to provide care that is anti-oppressive and affirming of your sexual orientation, gender, size, ability, race, ethnicity, culture, neurotype, spirituality, religion and lifestyle. It is important to me that our relationship is collaborative, non-hierarchical and tailored to your unique life experiences and circumstances.
Lived Experience
I live with chronic illness and have worked with many clients with chronic illnesses over the course of my career. I recognize how challenging it can be to navigate the medical system and to deal with the frequent grief, loss and uncertainty.
I am also neurodivergent and know the profound impact it has on how we interact with the world and how the world interacts with us.
I aim to accompany others in the journey of discovering their own strengths and navigating the challenges that come with living in an ableist society.
Services
I provide individual virtual psychotherapy sessions and can offer variable session lengths to accommodate your needs. I am also available for consultation to other professionals, particularly on the topics of chronic illness, neurodivergence, relational therapy or challenges around transference/counter-transference.
Logistics
I currently have some limited availability in late morning/early afternoon week day times.
I am in-network with the following PPO insurances: Anthem Blue Cross, Aetna, Blue Shield of California, United (Optum), Cigna, Oscar (Optum)
My full rate is $160/50-minute session and I can provide a superbill. My sliding scale slots are currently full.
I use doxy.me telehealth platform and currently provide telehealth therapy only via video or telephone (some insurances may not cover telephone only however). I speak English and French.
